After finishing my Study for Art Therapy and the Academy of Art , I decided to focus my ambition and passion in working as an Art Therapist in a psychotherapeutic day treatment. An important aim of my work was to bring people in contact with their inner source and to learn express themselves with expressive and creative materials .This is a non-verbal way of expression and for most people totally unknown. That makes art therapy is so unique and special.(There is dynamo and dynamite in painting…) It can be an important help in the process for a positive selfesteem and make connection with one’s innersource. More than 20 years I have worked as Art Therapist with mostly traumatized women and adolescents Actually this experience combined with the personal life-process, made me the artist who I am now. My artwork is about people and their interactions .I use the material which I consider necessary. Actually I never have a specific idea when I start painting. I cover my canvas with different kind of material, to get a structure. It can be shapes, but also a pure line game with wires and paint. At this stage I work especially with my hands; I let them play/communicate with each other. I follow the flow from inside. After that , I put the canvas aside, to examine it again at a later moment and continue the paintingprocess. There is still no top or bottomside. Just at a later stage, from the frequently vague context and colors, figures doom, which, at first sight, don’t have anything to do with each other. This is the moment I start to give more attention at this figures. Is there any contact between each other?..… autonomy? Is there sphere of intimacy or just distance? This is the phase , in which I really experience painting as a real trade ; a good job. Making decisions how I want to express the characters/figures, their position and relations. Although my figures are mostly obvious; the overall picture give more than enough opportunity for interpretation. It is generally hard to decide that a painting is finished .....
